2016 Democracy Day : Federal Government Declares Monday, May 30 Public Holiday. The Federal Government has declared May 30, 2016 as a public holiday to allow Nigerians celebrate this year’s Democracy Day. The Minister of Interior, Retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government on Wednesday in Abuja.
